A Shooting Frenzy gets a Win for Atom Girls
Atom Girls turned on the heat today by using all shooting opportunities with the visiting Walkerton Capitals.
With two girls away, and Justice in net, Coaches Jeff and Mark gave the pep talk before the game and when the puck dropped to start the 1st period, the girls got straight to business. Working well together, Laura got the first goal unassisted after only 30 seconds of play. Then, two minutes later, she took a pass from Taylor, and got another! Taylor ended the period scoring from a feed from Jet. Periods 2 and 3 were pretty much the same idea, the girls worked hard and strong defense kept the Walkerton girls from getting too much action in our zone. Justice saved all but one of the 17 shots against her. Walkerton's one goal was scored at the end of the 3rd. Way to go, Justice, almost a shut out! out shot Walkerton 30 to 17 and this accounts for the large win today. This game was good preparation for our year end Tournament in Ayton March 6 and 7. Way to go, team!!!
