2017-2018 Peewee Rep - Rising Stars Tournament Gold!
Submitted By Erica Allen on Wednesday, January 10, 2018
What a great way for our Peewee Rep to start 2018!

After making it to the semi finals in Silverstick, we had a few games to play then right into the Rising Stars Tournament in West Lorne.

Friday early afternoon our first game was played against St. George Generals.  We played hard on the ice and took our first win and shut out with a 3-0 finish.

Sat morning we battled against the Waterford Wildcats starting fiercely from the first puck drop.  We pulled out an amazing 8-0 win!

Saturday afternoon brought us back to the arena to play the home team and tournament hosts, the West Lorne Comets.  This game started a bit slow and evenly matched with no score in the first and second periods.  Third period our mighty dogs came alive.  We pulled out a third shut out of the tournament ending the days with a 3-0 win.

Sunday we were back into action.  We were now up against the Ilderton Jets.  This game took a bit to get our wheels moving but once we started scoring we just kept moving forward.  We finished with a 5-1 win putting us into the finals!

In the finals we played a local team, the Lucknow Sepoys.  This game was fast paced, and likely kept the game sheet recorder very busy.  We pulled out a 3-1 win!

Thanks to all the parents who drove back and forth from London and some even from home everyday to have those kids ready for this 3 full day tournament.  We battled weather and exhaustion but boy did we make this away tournament a fun one!

Special thanks to the coaching staff who supported the boys and kept them motivated throughout the tournament!  Special thanks also to A&T Automotive our tournament sponsor!

Congrats to our boys for playing with heart and sportsmanship.  Your actions on and off this ice set a great example for others in minor hockey.  Home for a well deserved rest before starting into play-off this weekend!

Stay tuned for our next home game and come and cheer on your local Ice Dogs!
