BCH Midget Local Go Undefeated in Dorchester Tournament!
On the weekend of December 2-4, the Midget Local team travelled to Dorchester to play in a tournament with 7 other teams. The boys played smart and brought home the Championship!
On Friday night, Game One, they defeated Dorchester 1 with a score of 6-2. Saturday afternoon they came up against Dorchester 2 which ended with a 2-0 shutout. Back at 8:00 that night, the BCH boys played South Huron. They were anxious to defeat South Huron since they had lost to them 4-3 in an exhibition game during the BCH Day at the beginning of the season. BCH was winning 2-1 but in the dying seconds of the third period, South Huron came on strong with a 6 on 4 power play and scored with 12 seconds left to end the game in a tie.
After the preliminary round, BCH came out on top - in first place going into the Semi Finals with eleven points. They had to play 3rd place team Dorchester 1 in the Semi Finals on Sunday. Dorchester went ahead early in the third to make it 2-1. With 3:43 left in the third, Mitch Merner made it a tied game. Then with only 11 seconds left, Josh Plasschaert scored, giving BCH the win with 3-2 and sending them to the Finals to play South Huron again.
The Midget Local team was smart and stayed out of the penalty box. They played a clean and hard fought game. Mac Josie started the scoring less than a minute into the game. Darren Greidanus put one in late in the first period and Cody Fisher scored midway through the second period to make the score 3-0. In the 3rd period, BCH focused on playing defensively and the game ended with a 3-0 score.
