Important Tryout Information
Submitted By Shelby Lovett on Friday, September 24, 2021
Welcome to the 2021-22 Hockey Season!

There have been some changes on the BCH Calendar that we would like to clarify and we have some tryout information to share.

U7, U8 and U9

**Be prepared to start your first ice session on Saturday, October 2nd. Contact has been made to some to volunteer as coach, assistant coach, trainers, etc. These age groups can always use more volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering with one of these age groups, please email [email protected]

U11-U18

Pre-season skates started on September 14th and will end tonight (Thursday, September 23rd) for U13-U18 divisions. U11 pre-season skates end on Saturday, September 25th. No players or goaltenders were evaluated during these ice times.

The calendar had to be uploaded for tryouts and that is why each team now says tryouts with their skate.

The groups that were created for U13-U18 divisions during the Pre-season skates, end this evening as well.

Tryouts:

- Each division's first ice session will be a tryout skate led by R&S Hockey.

- Each division's second ice session will be a game against another centre, or an Intersquad game(s).

- Players/Goaltenders will be evaluated during all tryout sessions.

U11 and U13 (2010) need to bring the following items with them to their first ice session:

1) Hard copy of Medical Information Sheet HTCP_Medical_Info_Form_Aug_2016_Fillable_(2).pdf

2) Full equipment, including neck guards and mouth guards, must be worn during all on-ice activities. If full equipment is not followed, players/goaltenders will be told to leave the ice and will miss out on tryouts until equipment guidelines are followed.

U13 (2009), U15 & U18 need to bring the following items with them to their first ice session:

1) Hard copy of Medical Information Sheet HTCP_Medical_Info_Form_Aug_2016_Fillable_(2).pdf

2) Proof of at minimum, first vaccination date. If you have proof of vaccination, please bring it with you.

- If you have already emailed your players/goaltenders proof of vaccination, you do not need to provide proof at their first ice session.

3) Full equipment, including neck guards and mouth guards, must be worn during all on-ice activities. If full equipment is not followed, players/goaltenders will be told to leave the ice and will miss out on tryouts until equipment guidelines are followed.

The following dates are Tryout start dates for each division:

1) U11

- Tryout skates begin on Monday, September 27. Evaluations do not start until this date. The Intersquad skate on Saturday, September 25th is just for the players to have a final skate before their tryouts. No evaluations!

- The second skate for U11's will be Wednesday, September 29th, 6p.m. in Hensall. This will be an Intersquad game for all players/goaltenders who are trying out for the Rep team and all will be evaluated.

2) U13

4) U18

If your player/goalie is unavailable during one of their tryout ice sessions, please email Brennan Greidanus at [email protected] to let us know. If you have already made contact with Kent about your player/goaltender being absent for a tryout session, you do not need to inform anyone else.

Hopefully this clarifies things further for everyone. Executive is working hard to navigate through the many changes faced each day and will continue to update and inform as we can. Please continue to check the BCH website for updates.
