The Peewee reps are taking on the challenge of “The Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup."
For this endeavour, the team will be be hosting an event at a Clinton Radar’s home game against the Seaforth Centenaries on January 3, 2020. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness for youth mental health. The team is working with the Huron Perth Centre which is an organization that offers counselling services for children and youth who may be struggling with mental health issues. They see children, youth up to the age of 18, and their families, as well as provide social services to high schools. The organization also has a New Horizon’s group which is a completely youth driven group.
A good minor hockey experience can give youth structure, consequences, parent-child connections, positive relationships, a sense of identity, a sense of control, a sense of belonging, rights and responsibilities, and safety and support.
