2nd Annual Ice Dog Day Afternoon a Huge Success
Submitted By Jeff Stoll on Wed 09 30, 09
I would like thank everyone for all their hard work to make the 2nd annual Icedog Day Afternoon a huge success. The on ice product for the Icedogs looks very promising, even though we came up on the wrong side of the score in 3 of the 4 games. The real winners of the day were all of the BCH community whom generously donated their time, money and canned goods to a very worthy cause.
I am pleased to announce that we raised $425.97 through the sale of BCH paraphnelia and other donations. This amount coupled with the $500 that the executive has already pledged to the West Grey Tornado Relief Fund brings the total to $925.97.
We also had a great deal of non perishable food goods to donate to the food bank. I would like to thank our corporate sponsors, Tim Horton's,The Sign Guys, Moore's Foodland and Side Street Video for their generous donations.
The schedule will be completed shortly, thank you for your patience. We had two main complaints from last year's schedule, lack of consistency and too much Sunday morning ice. We have successfully removed the Sunday morning ice for the most part. The consistency should be a lot better this season. Although it is impossible to give all teams the same ice times every week.
We have 20 teams this year involving almost 300 athletes! We have a Juvenile team and a Pee Wee girls as new additions to our family this year.
Let's all have a great season and 'keep your stick on the ice'!
