Bantam Rep Ice Dogs Take a Bite Out of the Stars
In a penalty filled, hard fought game Saturday in Hensall, the Bantam Rep Ice Dogs prevailed over the Seaforth Stars winning 3-2.
Scoring opened after a minute and a half into the first, with Colin sneaking through a point shot, assisted by Trevor. Seaforth responded quickly, tying the score at 1 only a couple minutes later. BCH regained the lead late in the first, with another point shot finding the net, this time Jake from Tyler. The first and second periods found Seaforth growing increasingly frustrated with the Dogs physical play and tight checking. Despite Seaforth filling the penalty box for plenty of the first and second periods, the Dogs were unable to capitalize.
BCH took a few penalties in the second period, and Seaforth eventually evened the game at 2 with a power play goal mid-way through the period. The game then calmed down a bit, with no scoring and fewer penalties until well into the third period.
Seven minutes into the last period, BCH scored their third goal on a tipped point shot, this time Tyler from Michael. Seaforth tried to tie the game shortly afterwards, sneaking the puck under the goalie, but a quick reaction by the BCH defence behind the goalie kept the lead at 1! The Dogs kept up the hard checking through the rest of the game, continuing to frustrate Seaforth until the end.
With the win over Seaforth, the Dogs won their eighth straight game.
Keep it up Dogs!
