PeeWee Rep Captures OMHA Gold!
With a confident and determined spirit, the BCH PeeWee Rep IceDogs traveled back to Ennismore on Saturday, March 26 for game 5 of the OMHA finals. Both teams came into this final game with four points a piece and the winner this day would clinch the championship OMHA title.
The first period, the IceDogs were again plagued with various penalties, even playing three on five on two separate occasions. The Eagles were unable to capitalize as the IceDogs played a strong defensive period. Awesome job getting the puck out and kudos to our goalie for making some great saves!
Early in the second, the Dogs played as a group and took over the game as we scored twice and dominated play after play. The Dogs found the back of the net once more in the second, ending the period with a three goal lead.
For the third period, the Dogs were unable to put one between the pipes, though they continued to pass well and play as one. With a little more than one minute remaining on the clock, the Eagles scored and the game concluded with a 3 - 1 victory for the IceDogs!
The entire team and coaching staff is congratulated for their hard work and dedication this season which resulted in this final victory. Every single member contributed to this well rounded team. They have had an incredibly successful year with 3 tournament wins as well as 3 additional silver place finishes. The team record as of this last game is 64 - 10 - 2.
It was an honour to be part of such a great group of players, coaches and parents. A lot of games were played this season, and this OMHA championship is reward for all the hard work and dedication of all. Thank you to all who have supported this team through financial support and being there to cheer us on! Congratulations again... it's been a great ride Dogs!!!
