Quest for the Gold Continues
Saturday, March 19 was the date for the third game in the series between the BCH IceDogs versus the Ennismore Eagles for OMHA gold.
The Dogs traveled to Ennismore with two wins under their belt, leading the series four points to zero. The Eagles scored early in the first determined to make a come back following their earlier losses. For the remainder of the first and second periods, the Dogs were plagued with penalties and Ennismore capitalized by putting two more in the net. End of the second, score 3 - 0 for the Eagles. The IceDogs were able to hold them off through the third period, but unfortunately couldn't put one in between the pipes. In the final moments, as BCH pulled their goalie, the Eagles scored again and the game ended 4 - 0.
Next day they were back on home ice to face off against the Eagles for game four. The Dogs came out fast and furious, but the Eagles weren't giving up without a fight. It was a nailbiter through the third period with neither team finding the back of the net. With one minute left in play, Ennismore was able to trickle one in off a rebound and bad bounce. The game ended with a score of 1 - 0 in favour of the Eagles. The PeeWee Rep IceDogs played an incredible game and left everything out on the ice. Hold you heads high IceDogs!!!
The OMHA PeeWee finals are tied at four points a piece. Game five will be Saturday, March 23 at 6:15 pm in Ennismore. Go get 'em Dogs!!!
