PeeWee Quest for OMHA Gold
It was with fire in their hearts and ice in their veins that our PeeWees amazed the multitude of fans as they took on the Ennismore Eagles in game one of the OMHA finals.
Period one set the pace for an action packed game. The Dogs dominated the period with great puck handling and team work. BCH found the back of the net during the first and didn't look back. This momentum carried them through into the second where we netted one more and did a great job defensively and between the pipes to kill off a couple of penalties. The Eagles came out soaring after the flood, but our Dogs continued to shut them down at every turn and did what needed to be done to secure a 2 - 0 victory.
On a high from our game one win, we headed to Ennismore to do it all again on their terms. The Eagles used their home advantage and played a strong first period putting two in our net. But with true BCH grit and determination we followed their second goal with one of our own and put one in between the pipes. First period ended with the Dogs down 1. We continued to play our game in the second and scored again dominating the period. Great job killing a 3 on 5 dumping the puck in their end at every chance. During the third period, the Dogs found the back of the net one more time for a one goal lead. The IceDogs were able to hold the Eagles off with their speed and great passing and won the game 3 goals to 2. Way to go Dogs!!! Congratulations to the coaches and players.
BCH leads the series with 4 points. Next game is Saturday, March 19 in Ennismore where we hope to secure the quest for OMHA gold.
