Novice Rep Win First Game in Semi-finals
Submitted By Dennis Gionet on Thursday, March 03, 2011
What a game tonight in Bayfield from the Novice Rep Ice Dogs!!!  Their team playing and passing were exceptional.  They stayed focused and maintained positive attitudes which ultimately won them the game.

It was edge of your seat excitement from the moment the Dogs entered the ice!  They were determined, excited and pumped up to win!  The first goal of the game was in the first period and scored by Owen, unassisted.  The Ice Dogs rallied in their end until another goal went in scored by Kyle and assisted by Owen.  The first period lifted the spirits of our players and the game only got better!

The second period brought hard skating and consistent playing from ALL players...every single one.  Seaforth scored two quick goals in the second to bring the game to 2-2.  The Dogs didn't let this stop them, in fact only made them try harder!  The third goal for the Dogs was scored by Owen, assisted by Kyle.  McKenzie scored a couple minutes later, assisted by Cole.  Owen was able to put another one by the Seaforth goalie, assisted by Kyle.  All this action brought the game to 5-2.

Going into the third with a three point lead was exciting for the Dogs.  Kai was on fire and stopping almost every shot and the defense did an excellent job keeping the shots on Kai to a minimum!  Great job defense, you guys are so strong now!  Seaforth scored their last goal in the third period, but the Dogs weren't done yet.  McKenzie scored next, assisted by Mitchell.  Not too long after that goal, Reese was able to score an amazing goal, assisted by Payton and McKenzie.  The Dogs continued on and Kyle managed to put one in, assisted by Owen.  With 22 seconds left in the game, Cole was on an amazing breakaway with no one around him and managed to sink the final goal of the game in the back of the net, assisted by Kyle.  Way to go Dogs, we are so proud of the way you played!!!  The team was also very excited to see Tayler...thanks for coming to cheer us on!  Keep it up for tomorrow night's game against Seaforth!

Despite a good effort by the Novice Rep Ice Dogs, the Teeswater Otters came out fighting last night and ended up with the win.  While the Dogs made several good plays, it wasn't enough to fend off the squad from Teewater.
