Teewater Otters Avoid Sweep
Despite a good effort by the Novice Rep Ice Dogs, the Teeswater Otters came out fighting last night and ended up with the win. While the Dogs made several good plays, it wasn't enough to fend off the squad from Teewater.
Teeswater took the lead first, but was answered back shortly after on a beautiful unassisted goal by Kyle. Unfortunately, the Otters would notch two more goals before the end of the first, leading 3-1 going into the second period. With some excellent forechecking by Payton, she was able to score two in the second period, both hardworking beauties. The first was assisted by Brodie and the second, by Owen and Max. Teeswater also scored two in the second, taking a 5-3 lead into the third. After several shots in the third, the Dogs were able to put another one up on the scoreboard to make it a closer game. After several good passing plays in front of the net, Mack was able to score it, with assists going to Owen and Reese. That was all that the Dogs were able to produce, as Teeswater put two more into the net to take the game, 7-4. While it was not the outcome that the team was hoping for, the Dogs can be proud of the hardwork they put into the game.
