Peewee Girls vs. Lucknow
Submitted By kgreaves on Friday, October 30, 2009
The Gold n Blue took the ice against the Lucknow Sepoys in an evenly matched game on Wednesday night. The BCH girls came out flying showing great improvement from the game against Blyth/Brussels.
First period action saw no goals for either team but stellar defense by the Ice Dogs. The Blue n Gold came out strong again in the second period, with #6 Kelsey getting a breakaway chance during a power play almost scoring the teams first goal. The action steadily got more aggressive as the fans got to witness some 4 on 4 hockey. End to end action continued as both goalies remained undefeated. With 5:32 left in the 2nd period, Lucknow scored with a lucky wide angle shot to put points on the board for. Lucknow quickly tallied another goal at the start of the 3rd period but the Ice Dogs remained undeterred. The goalie Chelsey stood tall between the pipes as the final score of 3-0 was not an indication of her stellar performance. Ice dogs saw more scoring opportunity in the 3rd period with high flying offence but came up up short on the scoreboard. Lucknow scored again half way through the 3rd but the dogs almost followed suit with a great rebound attempt by #30 Katie. Though Lucknow led the entire game, the BCH girls continued to fight hard along the boards right through the final buzzer.
