Re-Match With Durham Gets Atom Girls a Tie
The Atom Girls met for a fun re-match with the Durham Huskies in Hensall on Sunday November 29, which ended up tied 1-1. The Durham Atom girls team is good competition for the BCH Atom girls team, and that makes for a good game to play and watch.
For this game, Leah took a turn in net and Justice played wing, firsts for both girls. Leah saw lots of action right away as the Durham girls were able to get in close for a real "bee hive" of activity. Durham scored quickly after only 2 minutes of play. Leah adapted quickly, using her goalie stick better and better with each Durham shot. A couple of blocker saves looked good too! Way to go, Leah! The Ice Dog defense also worked very hard to keep Durham from swarming the net for too long. BCH's only goal came from Jet who took it in from the blue line near the beginning of the 2nd period. The rest of the game remained exciting with lots of back and forth play.
Reminder to all that team photos are scheduled for this Wednesday in Bayfield at 7:15, followed by a practice.
