Bch Wins Game 1
A few things happened this weekend. Diesel turned 18, we all know what that means. KEGGER! However the very next day would also be the first game of the WOAA finals, so the responsible thing would be to not drink the night before. But then again, how many times will you turn 18? Needless to say at the start of the game, Jamie was ready to kill the team. Big-E was also in the process of flying home from Spain.
Normandy stormed on the ice loud and extremely energetic. BCH barley made it on the ice with out anyone falling, or puking. Everyone looked dead, which they where. Normandy was given a penalty a few minutes in. Normandy then got the first goal of the game within the 1st 4 minutes still shorthanded. This wasn’t looking so good. However a few minutes later we either all sobered up or got lucky, at least one of the two anyway. The Greek scored after picking up the rebound that Farqs put on the net. 1-1. We could still do this. A penalty was taken by BCH, and we hoped we could kill it and maintain the tie. The penalty was killed successfully, back to 5 on 5 hockey. Three minutes were left in the period and Reid was given the puck by Wyker and shot off a cannon scoring top shelf making the score 2-1. The period ended 2-1, with Jamie shocked and relieved.
The second period started and BCH wasn’t backing down. BCH took a penalty at the start which was killed with ease. The Greek picked up the third goal of the game, which was his 2nd goal of the game. The goal was taken after Woodie passed it to The Greek who was parked in front of the net. 3-1 BCH. Neither team would do anything for the next few minutes. BCH took another penalty, which again was killed safely. Woodie was given the puck at the blue line by Wyker. Woodie then went in scoring on the goalies’ blocker side. 4-1 BCH. The period ended with BCH up 4-1. Not to bad for a team out partying the night before.
Normandy took a penalty a few minutes into the 3rd. Unfortunately we couldn’t score but still it was looking pretty good. The next 10 minutes or so were quite intense. Normandy was battling as hard as they could but BCH wasn’t going to let them score, or should I say Team Teebs wasn’t going to let that happen. Normandy did score with 4 minutes remaining making the score 4-2. They could come back so we couldn’t back down. With less than 2 minutes remaining, the score still sat at 4-2. However Normandy couldn’t of made it any easier for us as they took a penalty, and had one for the remainder of the game. Once the clocked hit 0 everyone jumped screamed and were quite ecstatic over the win. Lesson learned? It is possible to go out drinking the night before and still win the WOAA finals. On second thought, if the coach didn’t kill us the parent’s would so we probably wouldn’t try it again though.
