Teeswater Destroyed When it Counts
Once we got to the arena we were alerted by Terry to the importance of this game, what the deal was. This game decided who went on to the WOAA finals. If we lost. it was over. If we won, we would go on. This meant that everyone had to try as hard as possible.
We sure did try seeing how we scored within the first 2 minutes. The goal was by Riley after we did a quick shot of the draw. Looking good so far. Teeswater wasn't going to give up without a fight, or so we thought. They scored 2 minutes later tying up the game. Reid let go one of his legendary slap shots which zoomed by the goalie making the score 2-1. Both teams battled around for the remainder of the period. Everyone was sure the period would end with a 2-1 lead on BCH but Greek scored with 3.7 seconds left after grabbing a rebound from Farqs.
We needed to keep the pressure on them; This was done quite easily as Farqs scored after shooting over the goalies blocker. 4-1 BCH. Reid parked himself in front of the net and was given the puck by Woody. Reid couldn't refuse the free goal and made the score 5-1.The game continued on and the period was winding down but the pressure from both sides was unreal. Wild picked up another goal after doing a back door play with Farqs. The period ended with BCH up 6-1.
All Terry wanted was the pressure to be maintained. Indy scored in the opening minute, right off the draw after Durr passed him the puck. Then something that hadn't happened in awhile happened. Teeswater managed to get a puck by us making our lead only a 7-2 lead. That would all change however as Indy scored again. Teeswater scored again 20 seconds later. The score was now 8-3. Comeback with 10 minutes left? Possible but doubtful. The coffin was nailed shut as Woody picked up his first goal by shooting the low corner. Teeswater knew they were done and decided to have some fun. They weren't enjoying Ice Man's "positive" comments throughout the game so they went to our bench and started attacking Ice Man. Riley wasn't going to stand for this and immediately started throwing fists at Teeswater’s players. Riley and Iceman were both kicked off the ice and suspended. However props do go out to Riley for not leaving his team mate behind. After that shot of excitement the game ended with BCH the victor with a score of 9-3 and advancing onto WOAA finals.
