Fairly Close Call
After a close game last game we wanted to blow Milverton out of the arena. We could do this if we wanted to.
This game started out quickly with a quick blast by Farqs during the opening minutes of the game. Minutes later Riley picked up a rebound from Reid. 2-0 BCH! 30 seconds later Riley scored again. This time by himself. The score was already 3-0 in the first 4 minutes of play! Not too much later Milverton took a stupid penalty. Milverton killed this penalty though and we couldn’t get anything by them. Later on in the period Farqs picked up a goal after being set up by Riley. Riley was on fire as he already had got 4 points in the game. The period ended 4-0 BCH. Everyone was quite keen for the destruction to resume.
We had started to let up second period. It was quite obvious as 5 minutes had passed and the score was still sitting at 4-0 BCH. But...that was all about to change. Indy let off a shot from the blue line scoring and made the score 5-0 BCH. The game was crossing into the halfway mark and Iceman was still holding on to a shutout. Unfortunately something happened and Milverton scored making it 5-1. This meant that we had to start trying again. No point throwing it all away now. We pulled it off and the period ended with a 5-1 lead for BCH. This game was definitely in the bag.
We knew we would win so we didn’t play as hard. The first thing that happened was that Milverton scored. Then next major thing this period would be that Milverton scored again, their 3rd goal of the game. It was now 5-3 and we were a little worried about the whole “game being in the bag thing”. Riley scored his 3rd of the night giving himself a hat trick. Right after the goal we were given a penalty. It was not killed successfully This brought the score to 6-4. Oh dear, we worried. They just might come back. The game continued on until it was about to hit the two minute mark. Indy took a penalty giving them a 5-4. Not a good situation at all, but it got worse. Mexi took another penalty leaving us with a 5-3 PK for the rest of the game. Still, we were up two goals so it should have all balanced out. Milverton scored making the score 6-5 leaving the clock with just 47 seconds left on the clock. Could we pull this one off? Probably. It was just a 5-4 PK. Wrong answer. They scored again with 22 seconds left tying up the game. A timeout was called on BCH behalf’s where I imagine that Terry told everyone that if we lost we were idiots and that we would be giving away our playoff run. I will not know for sure as I wasn’t there. I was too busy cutting steaks at Food land. The game ended in a tie.
Overtime! Alright! Both teams were keen as keen and the best players were sent in to do their damage. 5 minutes into the overtime the game was settled. BCH would became the victor after Woody did an end to end. Quite the way to end a hockey game!
