Our Very Own Pearl Harbour
Submitted By Eric Armstrong on Sunday, February 14, 2010
After sustaining major loses the United States managed to come back and pretty much destroy Japan forcing them to surrender. After Pearl Harbour they also contributed significantly to success of the European Campaign. Now I realize that you might think that you clicked on the wrong article, however what I am writing relates very well to our team. Think of the Japanese Campaign as our play off round robin. Notice how they both started off slow? Then think of the European Campaign as our contribution to the Midget A-E team play offs. The plan now is to come back strong while picking up the pieces.

Now that the history lesson is over let's read about this game.  Everyone showed up 40 minutes before hand. After a pre game chat with Terry telling us how he picked this game first so we could set our record straight everyone felt confident skating onto the ice. The game started off fast with BCH clearly dominating. Big E picked up a rebound shooting it right off the post. A few shifts later Wild dropped the puck back to Reid. Reid aimed for the open net and missed the shot. Near the end of the 1st this game took a wrong turn with Lucknow scoring the first goal of the game.  The next few minutes were fought by us disparately trying to put a goal on the clock. Nothing would come through, the period ended 1-0 Lucknow.
The next period started, and we were supposed to step it up a bit. Farqs was doing so much work we was given a high stick penalty. His sentence in the ‘sin bin' was quickly ended as Lucknow scored another goal. Our confidence was starting to slip away. A few minutes later Riley took a penalty for slashing. This time we successfully killed the penalty. However 3 seconds later, Lucknow scored again making the score 3-0. Now we were trying to get back 3 goals! We had some close shots, but those don't count. Lucknow scored again making the score 4-0. 2 more minutes left and we were still hopefully we could do something. Unfortunately we tried but had to skate off with an agonizing score of 4-0 Lucknow.
We could score 5 goals in a period as we have done it before. The only difference was that we actually played like a team then, none of this 1 man team stuff. We knew could win if we wanted to win.
The first 5 minutes passed more quickly then normal. We were reminded that we were practically "down" 2 of the 5 goals needed to win the game. Wild picked up a rebound and backhanded the puck over the goalie's shoulder to make the score 4-1. Lucknow took a penalty shortly after, but we wouldn't score anything on that penalty. Then with a little more than two minutes left to our luck Lucknow took another penalty. Our power linne went to try and do something. Nope nothing would happen, we had lost our first playoff game with a brutal 4-1 loss
