Submitted By Steve Howe on Saturday, December 05, 2009
The BCH Peewee Rep are headed for the Championship Game of the Motown Cup Tournament in Detroit.  The Ice Dogs captured first place in their division with a 5-0 win over the Birmingham Liberty and a 4-1 victory over the Motor City Machine..

The Dogs finished the round robin portion of the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record and head to the Motwon Cup Championship final on Sunday morning for a rematch with the Birmingham Liberty.

The Dogs followed their 2-1 win Friday over the Flint Mountain Cats with a 5-0 shutout of the Liberty.  Beckham scored two goals and added an assist with singles from Dragster, Pickle and Dutchie Junior.  Haggy was outstanding in goal making the game look more one-sided that it really was..

In their second game Saturday, BCH spotted the Motor City Machine a 1-0 lead, before storming back with 4 unanswered goals for the win and a berth in the championship. The Dogs got goals from Smitty, Notch, Townie and Pickle.  10 players on the Dogs shared in the offensive stats.

The Ice Dogs face Birmingham in the final at 9:10 am Sunday morning at the Southgate Arena in Detroit.
