The BCH Peewee Rep Ice Dogs didn't win the 54th Mitchell Tournament, but they finished BIG. Team Captain Darth scored 4 goals and added an assist to lead the Ice Dogs to an 8-1 win over Dresden in the final game of their round robin.
Sinker had a 4 point game with a goal and 3 assists, and Pickle, Gomer and Townie scored singles. Hammer, Notch and Smitty had two points each. Snoop, Dragster, and Kotter also picked up points. Once again Haggy was solid between the pipes.
The Peewee Reps fell 4-2 to Mitchell in the tournament opener on Friday. The Dogs had come from behind to tie the game at 2 in the third. In their second game on Saturday, BCH battled the Bruce and the game was scoreless heading into the third. The Wild managed to take the third period with a pair of goals and an empty netter to clinch the 3-0 victory and a berth in the tournament semi-finals.
In just over two weeks, the Peewee Rep Ice Dogs will make a trek to Detroit to compete in the Motown Cup Tournament, which includes a trip to the Joe to watch the Wings and Oilers.
