More Playoff Action for Atom AE
It was a busy weekend for the Atom AE Icedogs. On Friday night, the dogs hosted Saugeen Shores Storm for the second half of the home and home. In the first meeting, the Storm put us away after a very close fought match. The rematch was close again, but the dogs managed a 2-1 win. Great fore-checking and great effort clearing pucks from in front of our net was the key.
On Saturday, the Icedogs hosted Listowel Cyclones. The dogs had plenty of chances to knock in rebounds but nobody could get to the net on time. That game ended in a 2-1 loss.
Finally, on Sunday.....while team Canada was playing one of the most exciting hockey games this decade (this century??), the Ice dogs hosted their second meeting with Drayton. The home team played a strong game but couldn’t beat the Drayton goalie. The final score was 4-0 for Drayton. It’s possible that the Icedogs were a little distracted by what they were missing on the television, but overall they played well.
