Lots of Playoff Hockey for Atom AE
In the month of February, the atom AE Icedogs have played a lot of hockey and had a lot of fun. First, the OMHA playdowns saw BCH take Tavistock to 5 games before bowing out. This was a very exciting series and the whole team should be very proud of how they performed. It should be noted that 3 of the 5 games were 1 goal games…lots of drama!
In the WOAA round robin, BCH is in tough with some familiar faces (Listowel AE, Saugeen Shores AE, and Howick) and Drayton rep. After 3 games the Icedogs are 1-2. Drayton is the team to beat as they handed the Icedogs a 5-3 loss last Monday. The other teams will be a challenge but the team knows wins are in reach after beating Howick 3-2 and losing in an overtime classic to Saugeen Shores 3-2. It should be noted that this game was played after traveling first class to watch the Knights at the JLC from a pair of “sweet” boxes. The boys are spoiled now…regular seats will never be good enough!
This weekend the Icedogs travel to Pt Elgin on Friday for the rematch with Saugeen Shores, they take on Listowel and Drayton at home (Sat & Sun), then travel to Howick on Monday night for the back half of that match up. They finally finish the series on Thursday March 4 in Listowel. That’s a lot of hockey!!
Gooooo Icedogs!
