Atom Rep Win Mildmay Tournament
On Friday night, the Atom Rep Ice Dogs travelled North to participate in the 51st Annual Mildmay Atom Tournament. The first game found the Ice Dogs once again up against the Mount Forest Rams. Having just finished the WOAA CC championship series against the Rams, the Ice Dogs knew just what they needed to do to win the first game in the tournament, winning the game 6-2.Game two was on Sunday morning, against the Hanover Falcons. Having been defeated by the Falcons twice before in regular season play, the Ice Dogs knew how the Falcons played, or so they thought. The Ice Dogs came out and scored five goals in the first period, proving that working as a team can get the job done! Final score was 6-1.
Winning both games, sent the Ice Dogs to face off against the Blyth Bull Dogs in the tournament finals on Sunday night. In a clean, well disciplined game, these two teams made for a great hockey game. The Ice Dogs came out on top, winning 6-3, and bringing home the trophy!
Congratulations to the Atom Rep Ice Dogs, your efforts, teamwork and sportsmanship during the games in Mildmay, made your parents, and the BCH community proud.
One more hurdle to conquer, the Ice Dogs continue their quest this week against Listowel to vie for the WOAA Lockridge Championship.
Come on out and cheer on your Ice Dogs!
Go Dogs Go!!
