Atom Rep One Step Closer
Submitted By Stephanie Peck on Thursday, March 11, 2010
The Atom Rep Ice Dogs travelled to Goderich to the Y for game one to challenge the Goderich Sailors in this best 2 of 3 series in the WOAA playoffs.

Not having played the Goderich Sailors Rep team in regular season play, nor having met them in tournament action, the Ice Dogs were not sure what to expect out of the Sailors.  Both teams seemed to match each other in their style of play during game one.  After three periods, the score was tied at 1, taking the game to overtime.   There was plenty of action during the overtime period, as both teams seemed to step up their play.  It didn’t take long into the overtime period for the puck to find its way into the Sailors net, securing the first win for BCH.  Way to play Ice Dogs.

The Ice Dogs knew that in game two, the Sailors would come out strong, as they were now down a game, and it was a must-win situation for them.  The Dogs came out strong, and played well together as a team.  It was back and forth action, with each BCH goal being followed by a Goderich goal.   Tied at 3-3 going into the end of the third, it looked like this game would have to be decided in overtime.  With only a few seconds left, BCH scored, securing the win, and moving on to the next round.  Final score was 4-3 BCH.   Great Job Ice Dogs!!!

Next game is in Clinton on Saturday at 2:15.  Come on out and cheer on your Ice Dogs.

GO ICE DOGS GO!!!
