Atom Rep Ice Dogs take round one in three straight
Submitted By Stephanie Peck on Saturday, January 30, 2010
After a HUGE win 9-1 on Saturday, the Ice Dogs returned to the ice in Exeter on Sunday for Game 3 of the first round series.

The South Huron Sabres came out this game with determination, definitely a different team than at last meeting.  Period one was full of fast action, and plenty of chances on both ends.  It came down to the last 30 seconds of the first before a mark on the scoreboard, with Boots making the perfect shot, ending the period 1-0 for BCH.

It didn’t take long into the second period for the Sabres to attack back, tying up the score in the first minute.  Again, the balance of the second was full of superb defense, leaving the score tied after two.

The third period was full of “edge-of-the-seat” action, with South Huron scoring early in the third, and BCH replying quickly with another goal.  Back and forth action at it’s best.    With only 4 minutes left in the game, Nolan put one in the net, taking BCH ahead once again.  Then down to the final minute, and things started to get tense. Once again, the Sabres were able to score tying the game after three, taking the game into overtime.

These two teams were well versed in overtime, and didn’t give into the pressure.  With only three minutes left into overtime, Dawson took the shot, and scored the game winner.  That was it…4-3 BCH, and winning the series against South Huron in three straight.

Huge congrats to the team for working together and having such a successful series.

The Atom Rep team is headed South for the next series, against the winner of Harrow and Dresdan.
