Dogs take Game 1 of OMHA Atom Playdowns
On Saturday, the Ice Dogs took on the South Huron Sabres for the first of 5 games, in the OMHA playdown series. The Dogs went into this series, knowing that the Sabres were a strong physical team, having faced off with them twice before in tournaments.
South Huron opened up the scoring in the first, but BCH rallied back and tied it up with a goal by Jason, assisted by Dawson & Brad. The first period was full of action, but ended tied at one a piece.
South Huron again opened up the second period scoring, only to be answered back with a beauty by KyleM fed from Jason. One more goal by Jason, assisted by Brad & Jared, would take the period for the Dogs. Score after the second was 3-2 for BCH.
The third period was full of net action, starting off with an unassisted goal by Brad, and another by Jason, assisted by Sam. South Huron turned on the pressure, and came back with two goals in four minutes. The Dogs had more life left in them, and scored two more insurance goals, by KyleM, assisted by Brad, and by Nolan, assisted by Dean & KyleM. Final score of the first game was 7-4 BCH.
A great display of team effort. Keep up the good work!
The series continues with Game 2, next Saturday in Clinton at 2:15…come on out and cheer on the Ice Dogs!
