The Novice Local 1 opened its season last week in Brussels, where they got off to a great start with just about every player hitting the score sheet. The Ice Dogs were rewarded with a 13-1 win..
On Friday November the 6th the Ice Dogs had there first home game where they hosted Brussels.
The Ice Dogs came out flying keeping the puck inside the Brussels zone for most of the game. Great passing and lots of "heads up plays" kept the pucks hitting the back of the net. Kyle Dunn scored seven times leading the team to a 11-0 win with lots of players getting great chances but running into some good goaltending from Brussels.
The defence played their positions well allowing the puck out of Brussels end only a few times which gave our offence great scoring chances. Kai Egbers earned the shutout stopping a few good breakaways from Brussels.
The coaches and parents are super impressed with all the hard work that this team is showing in these first two games. The Ice Dogs are off to Mitchell on Sunday for their third game of the season and hopefully the hard work will follow them there ....
