Ice Dogs Come Close in First Playoff Game
The Novice Rep Ice Dogs worked really hard during the first playoff game, but fell just short, losing 4-3 to Mitchell on Friday night.
Team play was the name of the game, as there was great passing by many players throughout the game. Our defensive troupe of Goin' Owen, Brawny Braeden, Jake the Snake and Luke the Lookout played a very strong game, complementing the great efforts of the Caminator in net. The Ice Dogs took the lead early, on a great , top-shelf shot by the MacMan(dedicated to Sue!!), after some perfect passing assists from both the Matt-Mobile and Sniper. Mitchell answered back. The second Ice Dogs goal was a beauty, scored by Sniper and assisted by Brawny. Mitchell again answered back, scoring two to go up by one. The Ice Dogs tied it up with a couple minutes remaining in the game, after Sniper and the Calebrator teamed up along the boards, where Sniper scored and the Calebrator assisted. The Zach-Attack should be recognized for some amazing stick handling, which almost netted him a couple, but Mitchell's goalie made some amazing saves to deny him his well-deserved glory. Spanky also played a great, two-way game, helping to keep the puck in the Ice Dogs offensive zone on several occassions.
The Novice Rep Ice Dogs should be commended for a well-fought effort. Keep it up, boys!!
