Dogs Give It Their All
The Novice Rep Ice Dogs came to the rink ready to play on Saturday, as they tied the league-leading Listowel Cyclones 5-5.
This game was what the Ice Dogs needed, as they had recently suffered a couple of disappointing losses the weekend before.
In the Listowel game, the Ice Dogs showed grit and determination in fighting for the tie. They took a two-goal lead early in the game, but Listowel answered back to make it a close one. With the Dogs up by a goal, Listowel scored with just over a minute left to tie the game at 5. The boys did what they needed to do, with the defensive squad demonstrating some offensive skill, and the offensive troupe helping out defensively. Goals were scored by Sniper (4) and the Matt-Mobile, with assists by Matt-Mobile, the Calebrator and Jake the Snake.
The weekend before, the Dogs took on the Mitchell team in a valiant 5-2 effort. There were lots of battles along the boards and some strong moments, but Mitchell was the team to come out on top. Scoring for the Ice Dogs was Mac-Man and Sniper, with assists going to the Calebrator and Sniper. The next day, the dogs took on the Saugeen Shores team. The Ice Dogs appeared to be sleepy, as goal after goal was scored by the Saugeen Shores team. The Ice Dogs seemed unable to clear the puck from the zone, and suffered their biggest loss of the season, 9-3. Lively Liam , Sniper & The Calebrator hit the score sheet with the Dog's goals, while assists were made by Jake the Snake and the Calebrator.
Let's hope the hardwork and determination from the Listowel game continues to be the Ice Dogs' approach to their remaining few season games.
