Atom Rep - The Atom Rep are "A" Finalists at Mount Forest Tournament
The Icedogs were able to take home "A" Finalist medals after playing great and consistent in the Mount Forest Atom Rep Tournament on December 27th.
Their first game was at 10:00 a.m. against Mount Forest. The Rams were able to score one goal in the first period but it would be the last goal for them. The BCH Icedogs fought hard and never gave up and were able to score four goals in total. The goals were scored by 1) Zach V., assisted by Owen O. and Jake F.; 2) Liam D., assisted by Spencer C. and Owen G.; 3) Spencer C., assisted by Liam D. and Zach V. and; 4) Owen G., assisted by Spencer C. It was a really enjoyable game to watch and Logan B. saved many goals that were aimed at him. Our defence (Zach V., Jake F., Owen O. Brandon J. (our wonderful affiliate) and Owen G.) were our saviours in this game because they weren't letting anything by. Way to go everyone!
The second game was played at 12:00 against TCDMHA. This game went our way right from the beginning. Our first goal was scored by Owen G., assisted by Spencer C. and Liam D. Twenty seconds later Brandon J. was able to score a goal from the point, unassisted. A little later in the first period our third goal was scored by Liam D., assisted by Spencer C. and Owen O. With under a minute left in the first period Liam D. scored our fourth goal, assisted by Spencer C. and Owen G. The second period brought two more goals, scored by Spencer C., assisted by Owen G. and Liam D. and the second goal scored by Liam D, assisted by Owen G. and Spencer C. The third period brought our seventh and final goal, scored by Liam D, assisted by Owen O. and Spencer C. This brought the final total to 7 to 1. Way to go Icedogs. Winning this game meant we were in the A Finals to be played at 5:20.
The last game started off with a bang against the West Lincoln Wrath....both teams were aggressive and wanted to win. West Lincoln scored first and the Icedogs scored our one and only goal shortly after by Spencer C., unassisted. West Lincoln would score four more goals but thanks to Logan B., who took many shots from this team, and our defensive team, the final score remained at 5 to 1.
You guys played an excellent tournament.....every single one of you. Special mention to Payton K., Jaden C. and McKenzie S., who had many great opportunities and lots of great work. Everyone was passing and trying to listen to Coach Mark about the things learned during practice....especially the chipping it off the boards to yourself. It was a fun day for the Icedogs! Great job everyone!
