09-10 Midget Local - Blake Reid scores the winner!
Submitted By Eric Armstrong on Saturday, February 06, 2010
This arena brings back a lot of memories. Watching Brett Taylor rock kids, the “fire alarm” before getting on the ice and watching as our trainer Doug Reid was kicked off the bench. However that was last year, and a completely different team. It is time to focus on right now.

When you're on the road you want to score a goal quickly but this time we got a goal scored quickly against us 1-0 Ripley. No! We had to start trying and fix the problem by scoring more, however it was a bit harder than we wanted as we got a penalty seconds after they scored. Thanks Wood. No reason to worry though, our PK easily killed their advantage. Wild set the bar with a 1 on 1 with the goalie, effectively tying up the game and boosting our spirits. Nothing else could be done that period, leaving the score tied 1 - 1.

“The score should be about 5-1 now, guys lets get going." No one answered. "Just crank it up a bit!" Okay we thought. We will see what happens.

The period opened up with Diesel taking a howitzer. Bravely Farqhuar stood in front of the goalie tipping it in 2-1 BCH. Terry Jr , after being set up by Durr, roofed the puck top shelf to make the score 3-1 BCH. Wild got back into the game as well after picking up a rebound from Mexi. 4-1 BCH. Were we ever going to stop? Yes, we couldn’t score anything else for the rest of the period.

“Ok its not bad although it should be a lot higher. They are tired so let's murder these jokers”. It seemed obvious that we were lacking motivation as it took us 5 minutes to score again. Wyker started up the first scoring to make it 5-1 BCH. The fire must of been put out though because nothing else happened. Sure shots hit the net, but those don’t go on the score board. With a mere minute remaining it looked like this game would end at 5-1 however, Ried shot a beauty wrist shot from the point making the score 6-1. The game ended in a 6-1 victory for BCH.
